My professional journey
I’m Vlad, and I’ve spent the last 16 years learning that the most important digital products aren't always the loudest—they’re the ones that bring a sense of calm to total chaos. My career has been a journey through "messy" domains: healthcare, fintech, enterprise SaaS, and most recently, robotics. These are worlds where the stakes are high, the regulations are dense (FDA, EMA, GDPR, HIPAA), and a single point of friction can have real-world consequences. I’ve learned to love the unglamorous work — edge cases, offline modes, and the "seams" where systems break — because that is where user trust is actually earned.
My perspective has been shaped by a journey through Riga, Copenhagen, London, and Lisbon, where each city refined a different layer of my craft. Copenhagen introduced me to the power of restraint and the Scandinavian belief that the best design should feel invisible, while London provided the rigor required to ship at a global scale, managing platforms for over 4 million users under the pressure of audit trails and high-stakes deadlines. Riga remains my home for hands-on craft, where I’ve bridged the gap between sophisticated software and hardware telemetry.
When I’m not scaling design systems, I’m likely writing a psychological thriller or building Animo, a pet-data platform that translates raw signals into humane guidance. I find that whether you’re writing a novel or a product requirement, it all comes down to the same thing: understanding the human at the other end.
